Micropipettes
Micropipettes & Micro electrodes
Micropipettes are predominantly used in the fields of medical technology and research. Thanks to their small tips, which can be smaller than a micrometer, cells can be punctured, substances injected or electrochemical processes observed and influenced in the cell using a reference solution. Available in a whole host of shapes and varieties, micropipettes are a key element of modern research.
Raw material
Micropipettes are manufactured on what are known as “pullers” using heating and drawing processes.
It is then possible to create a variety of tip shapes. Depending on the application, the tips can be specifically adapted to your requirements. Here, tip diameters of < 1 µm are possible.
Designs
Whether angled, with spike or angle cut, fire-polished to a greater or lesser extent: every tip offers great flexibility in your applications. An additional gold-plating of the tips provides a strong contrast under the light microscope. A Luer connector can also be attached to the end of the micropipette on request.
Micropipette with flow restrictor
This is a special type of micropipette for dispensing tasks. The micropipette has a constriction above the pipette tip. This reduces the flow within the capillary and therefore the pressure at the tip.
Conical micropipettes
We manufacture micropipettes tailored to the specific requirements of applications with difficult installation conditions. For example, you will find them as suction or blowing tools in the field of microprocessing. They are also used for marking defects on semiconductors, for dispensing the tiniest of droplets, and for lifting and positioning the smallest components.
For pipetting in deep holes
Micropipettes with extra-long tips are particularly suitable for the pipetting of liquids in very deep samples and test tubes, for example in NMR spectroscopy or when dispensing adhesives into very deep holes. The micropipettes are tailored to the specific requirements of your application and can be optionally provided with plastic Luer connectors.
